So they're sending some lucky blogger down to the Frozen South for ten days and everyone else gets to stay home and read about it in warmth and comfort.

Please! Let me be your blogger!

I can write. I can take pictures. I can get really seasick! I've been known to squeal with delight at the sight of penguins. And I will share it all with you, clearly, concisely and humorously. Because I'm conscientious that way and very eager to please.

What's my experience you ask?

Well, let's see. I've been blogging since November 2006 and my travels have taken me to Europe and Africa, which I described vividly in emails sent to a group of interested family and friends and that list? Grew while I was travelling, which tells you that at least a few dozen people found it interesting, anyway.

What else can I say?

Just think of the fun you'll have reading about the adventures of a middle-aged woman exploring the Antarctic with her long-suffering husband, who's bravely agreed to go with, and cast your vote accordingly.

It's beneath me to beg.

Wait, what am I saying? It is so not beneath me to beg!
