Help Send Alan Around The World To Antarctica!

Hi, I'm Alan Mizell and on Friday, July 24, 2009 I am pedaling away from my home to see the world on a bicycle. I will blog about my adventures on AlanAroundTheWorld.com and share the trip with family, friends, and the world.

This trip is the culmination of 30 years of dreaming. I remember at age 15 I would trace pencil routes in an old atlas of the roads I intended to pedal "when I got old enough". Now I am 45 and I'm gonna do things a little differently from the norm. I am taking a year or two of my retirement while I am young enough to enjoy it. I am going to see the world, and I am taking you with me.

Planning this adventure, gearing up, watching my dream come true, it has all put me on top of the world. Now with your help and Quark Expeditions I can get to the bottom of the world!

The polar regions of the Earth are, pardon the irony, a hot topic in the news. I have a great love of the outdoors and a long-time interest in the vast white caps of our planet. My love of close to the ground travel should make for an interesting series of posts. Support me in my quest to visit this extreme land and I will share every detail with you, all of my online friends. Thanks in advance for taking a moment to vote for Alan Around The World!

I do have one question for Quark Expeditions. Will you let me ride my bike in Antarctica?
