Nobody has ever asked for me to prove myself adventurous, but here it goes. I have camped at twenty below in the boundary waters of Minnesota and Canada, I've back country skied the backside of Arapahoe Basin, Loveland Pass and Berthod Pass in Colorado. I've hiked alone in the Grand Canyon for three days. I've kayaked in the everglades and camped solo on Cape Sable, Florida.  I have a wife, two teenaged boys two dogs and seven chickens all of which provide more adventure than you would ever guess.
I think that nature is adventure.  People in general  are moving away from nature, captured by jobs and easy chairs. It's not our fault, it is the next step in our evolution, but we all have a yearning to go back. A yearning to see where we came from. As humans we have the unique opportunity to observe and enjoy the drama that is nature with unnaturally low risk.
I've observed nature all of my life. As a kid I was teased about this. At age forty nine I have learned to take some time and write about what I see. Please read some entries at http://www.rwNaturenotes.net. Or if you are more adventurous try my other blog:
