I have searched for ways to go on a cruise with Quark Expeditions for 6 years and my wishes to see Antarctica go beyond my memory.  As a result of existing student loan debt from my previous degree and working to save to pay for my future education in Environmental Law, trips such as these are typically wishful thinking. I receive news-letters and catalogs from Quark Expeditions, always hoping for a promotion or job that could somehow allow me to go.  This opportunity is exactly what I was waiting for.

Aside from constantly craving adventure, I possess a deep passion and commitment towards protecting the earth, and attempt to live my life according. I believe the earth’s environment is in danger and more people must understand this.  One of the best ways to gain support is to allow others the opportunity to see the earth as they have not seen it before as well as share its important role in our survival. If I am able to go on this trip, I will, through photos and descriptions of what I experience, share the beauty, solitude and life of this region with everyone I can, helping them to understand  what we risk losing by not caring for our planet.

I would like nothing more than to experience everything this adventure offers and would appreciate all of the support I can get. I also will bring a penguin back for anyone who votes for me.  Just Kidding!  However, I will enjoy the trip to its fullest and use my writing and photos to advocate for the environment in any way that can.
