The last mile of the travel marathon

Antarctica is the last continent left to explore. I've had the privilege of exploring over 50 countries, doing everything from driving a dog sled in Siberia, drinking with gangster rappers, jumping off of buildings and planes on a few continents, climbed Kilimanjaro, crawled inside the Great Pyramids, danced the tango in Argentina and managed to take amazing pictures so I can relive those experiences.

Seeing and doing when traveling is only half of the adventure. The other half is your own growth as a person. You realize that what you have is a luxury to most of the world, and that it's a humbling experience. In the worst of situations, you can find the goodness of people.

I've been lucky enough to blog and send postcards from around the world and sharing my adventures with schools, friends and strangers online - all with the idea that the world is out there for everyone to explore. It's just one step into uncertainty that's richly rewarded.

I want to share the entire Antarctic experience with everyone. It's not about the boat or setting foot on shore - it's about the excitement of planning, the strangers you meet along the way that you later call friends and the story.
